Gender identity in curriculum and textbooks comes from activism

Several articles, reader contributions, and the results of the curriculum confirm that Foreningen Fri has had the power to define and introduce “gender identity” and queer theory into the 2020 curriculum.

Documented introduction of “gender identity” into the curriculum:

The Free Association with its partners, Redd Barna, Amnesty, Skeiv Ungdom, and a total of 18 interest groups demanded from the Minister of Education that “gender identity” be introduced into the curriculum after the first consultation. Shortly afterwards, it was accepted by the Conservative Party’s Minister of State Sanner, even though the consultation period had expired.

Quote from reader post from Fri in Daily newspaper:

“We cannot have a curriculum in 2020 that does not ensure students receive good education about sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. The consequences are too dramatic.”

On their The association Fri writes its own pages about their advocacy work to get gender identity into the curriculum.

Quote from the website of the association Fri about their work:

“Sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression are concepts that are used in an increasing number of contexts, both in governing documents, for example in the framework plan for kindergarten, as well as in professional texts and legislation, for example in a separate section in the Discrimination Act.”

TV2 confirms that the Minister of Education was pressured, but denies that he was pressured when 18 interest groups put pressure on Sanner. Shortly afterwards, gender identity included in the curriculum, even though the deadline had passed.

The consequence? In school textbooks from 2021, all publishers convey that gender is a feeling and there are many genders to choose from, only the children themselves know which gender they can be.

Quote from TV2's article - yes to gender identity in school textbooks from the Conservative Party

Minister of Education Jan Tore Sanner (H) says to TV 2 that he wants Norwegian schoolchildren to learn about sexual orientation and gender expression.

 – Yes, of course it should be included. Students should have knowledge about different sexual orientations. We should lay the foundation for combating prejudice and discrimination and promoting openness. So gender identity, gender expression and different sexual orientations should be included in the new curricula, says Sanner.”

Queer theory and gender identity into textbooks from state-backed activists

On page 24 of “The Free, Pink Competence School Association annual report 2021”"It says that the association FRI has had contact with the publishers Cappelen Damm and Gyldendal, and that FRI at Rosa Kompetanse"“offers professional guidance related to sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression”

Furthermore, it states that the association FRI "“Throughout 2020, we have provided professional feedback on teaching materials from Cappelen Damm and two teaching materials from Gyldendal. We have also contributed to curriculum literature for associate professor students at UiO.”

Excerpt from Fris's annual report 2021:

In other words, one can draw a common thread from the FRI association to the textbooks for children down to the 3rd grade. When it comes to Aschehough publishing house and the Arena 5 learning books in social studies, it turns out that one of the authors of the textbook is the former deputy chairman of the FRI association, Guro Sibeko. Arena 5 is probably the most radical book of all, teaching in a very indoctrinating way that gender is a feeling and the child decides for himself what gender he has. Arena 5 uses several well-known trans activists as “gender experts” in the chapter on gender.

On the website of the FRI Association under their political platform, they themselves have written about their most important function as a queer interest organization: “One of our most important tasks is to influence society at large, such as politicians, organizations, authorities, businesses and the mass media. This work is carried out locally, regionally, nationally and internationally, including through pride and other queer events.”

The association FRI holds the power to define pride, sexuality and gender in Norway, and thus the content of sexuality education. These are large cultural areas that affect much of society from a small interest organization with 4,000 members.

FRI has influence on what has already been included in school textbooks and FRI strongly influences how politics and legislation are formulated. Dozens of associations and organizations are closely linked to the FRI association's spread of queer theory. From unions to associations, companies, agencies and political parties.

FRI receives tens of millions in public funds annually. One wonders if the state pays the FRI association to conduct advocacy work and change culture, laws, education and norms for everyone in the country. Public funds are used to run the FRI organization's work, and the state bureaucracy rolls out queer theory from the FRI association as the basis for state action plans, curricula and medical guidelines.

Other major promoters and supporters of FRI who want queer theory in schools, kindergartens, teaching and into society in general are: Sex and Society, Queer Youth, the Patient Organization for Gender Incongruent, Sex and Politics, Queer World and the Human-Ethical Federation. The list is much longer than this.
