Students should know that they can be whatever they want and that there are many alternatives.&quot;. <\/em>This is the essence of queer theory around gender identity, and is radical thinking that is neither scientific nor biological. The entire chapter is very radical with an insistent introduction of \u201cgender identity\u201d as fact and as knowledge that it is important to get details about. It is not presented plausibly or as a topic of conversation, gender identity is explained in a way that directly ignores biology. Children aged 8-9 are introduced to the fact that they will learn to \u00ab<em>think about what it&#039;s like to feel like a boy or a girl, or neither, or both.\u00bb\u00a0<\/em>Gender identity is highlighted as an important word, and visually as the biggest word to know from this chapter.\u00a0<br><br>It is problematic because the concept of gender identity overrides and replaces both biological sex and personality, femininity and masculinity. Gender is portrayed as a feeling that can be seen on your appearance, what you like to play with and dress like, but at the same time not. Gender identity overrides everything, in that the school textbook tells children that it is &quot;who you are and how you see yourself&quot;. This is very identity-forming information for young children. With such teaching, it can mean that the children change both their real experience of the world and their understanding of themselves. According to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ark.no\/boker\/Marion-Arntzen-Prinsesse-Ivar-9788249219841#product-description\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the review on Ark.no\u00a0<\/a>about the character Ivar, the theory is introduced that children can be born in the wrong body, which is very radical: &quot;E<em>Some children are born with a body that does not match their gender identity. Some have a boy&#039;s body and feel like a girl, others have a girl&#039;s body and feel like a boy. (\u2026) All children have the right to express their gender as they wish. The book is about all children&#039;s right to be exactly who they want to be.\u00bb<\/em><br><br>The Princess Ivar books are\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foreningenfri.no\/boker-for-barn-og-ungdom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recommended literature<\/a>\u00a0from FRI \u2013 the association for gender and sexual diversity and recommended by Rosa Kompetanse. The association Fri is the owner of most of the limited liability companies that operate the PRIDE events in the country and the association is a special interest organization that sees Pride as a battleground for queer politics. FRI and the other other queer interest organizations share the view on gender identity with what is conveyed in Solaris 3-4: That gender is a feeling and everyone has the right to define their gender as they want. Gender is a sense of who you are and who you know you are. It is disturbing that teachers should introduce children to queer theory in this way, completely uncritically, and then look for changes in attitude and mindset. The book is about a settlement that everyone should be able to dress as they want and be themselves and use the restrooms they want.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reflection<\/strong> to <strong>additional literature&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Children are consistently taught that gender identity is the gender they feel like, and at the same time they learn that how they dress, what they play with and their hairstyle can say something about their own gender identity. When you also introduce a book where a boy dresses in a dress and has long hair, but struggles not to be perceived as a boy, the confusion the children have been exposed to is enormous.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Gender identity can be reflected in what you do and look like and play with, but it doesn&#039;t have to be tied together. You can feel like a girl and a boy, something in between and neither, sometimes or all the time.
