Summary #
This is the most activist book of all school books up to the 5th grade, and it probably has to do with the fact that the author of the book, Guro Sibeko, is a former deputy leader of the Free Association. This book has everything there is to know about queer theory. Introducing a multitude of queer concepts from “gender identity” to cis, with mantras like “be yourself as you are” and “only you know what gender you are”.
Here we introduce some of the country's most well-known activists around trans issues and gender, Luca Dalen Espseth, who has worked in both the Fri and PKI associations lobbying for gender diversity and gender identity in legislation and school textbooks. In the digital teaching materials, the “trans person” Luca is referred to as an “expert on gender”. Luka has been an advisor for gender diversity at Fri and says that it “feels good to be injected with testosterone” to make the body look like a man.
August gets two pages to talk about being “non-binary” and how important it is that people use the correct pronouns for each other. This is identity politics of an intense and uncritical nature. The school textbook is very radical and replaces biology with queer theory, and puts students in many confusing situations.
